There are some fantastic scenes, especially Schwarzenegger’s infamous roar at the end of the film’s credits. If you’ve seen the original, you’ll appreciate how far this sequel went beyond the original.
In contrast to the first Terminator movie, this sequel does not presuppose a sequel. While Terminator Salvation and Genisys were primarily designed around a sequel, Dark Fate focuses on the first Terminator film’s foundation. This approach is not uncommon for blockbuster films. And while there are some echoes of the original film, Dark Fate is still an excellent movie all on its own.
While remaking the classic Terminator movie series, Dark Fate takes a completely different approach. In the original movie, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s cyborg Terminator teamed up with Linda Hamilton’s Sarah Connor. This version of the Terminator saga is more aimed at new audiences than at existing fans. This film features more women than the original film, including Sarah Connor and her son.
Mads Mikkelsen’s Hobbs & Shaw
This Mads Mikkelsen action thriller follows a pair of ex-CIA agents: Brigham Young (Dwayne Johnson) and Jack Black (Jason Statham). Their mission is to save the world from a mysterious bio-threat and they do it by outrunning Brixton, a brilliant rogue MI6 agent (Gina Rodriguez). The film is a surprisingly moving and thought-provoking thriller that shows Van Damme can still deliver an effective performance. A father’s love for his son is tested when he gets a violent encounter with a drunk patron. He then must go undercover to infiltrate a violent criminal gang to protect his family.

The story centers on an aged bouncer who struggles to support his daughter and ties himself up with the criminal underworld. The film’s cast makes their presence felt in each scene. The film also makes use of stylistic flurries in camerawork and other visual aspects to create a video game-like atmosphere.
Aside from his iconic muscle sculpt, Van Damme is also a charismatic actor who gets better with age. In The Bouncer, he wears his age gracefully, giving off a more melancholy, worn-out face that makes him even more charismatic. Aside from that, Van Damme is a great actor, and his role in the film is a solid one.
Joaquin Phoenix’s Alita: Battle Angel
Director Robert Rodriguez’s sci-fi adventure, Alita: Battle Angel, will be released on February 14, 2017. It stars Joaquin Phoenix, Rosa Salazar, Christoph Waltz, Mahershala Ali, and Keean Johnson. The movie was originally announced for 2003, but was repeatedly delayed due to James Cameron’s work on Avatar. In April 2016, Rodriguez was announced as the film’s director. Soon after, Salazar was cast as the title character. In October 2016, production began at Rodriguez’s Troublemaker Studios in New York City. The film was released in February 2017.
Though sequels are all the rage these days, a film can stand alone. Disney, which has a good relationship with Fox, has already released two sequels for the studio, including The Book of Boba Fett and Home Sweet Home Alone. But the studio is still juggling its newly acquired IPs. However, it’s not impossible to imagine that Alien: Battle Angel will return to the small screen.
The film’s twist endings make it an interesting thriller. While most films have a predictable ending, Joaquin Phoenix’s Alien: Battle Angel twists the script in an unexpected way. In the first episode of the film, Merrill Hess is in his closet when the alien first comes on the screen. She backs up into her clothes, but a little too late.
