Halestorm is an American rock band from Red Lion, Pennsylvania. The members of Halestorm include lead singer Lzzy Hale, guitarist Joe Hottinger, and bassist Josh Smith. The band formed in 2001, and released their first album, The Steeple, in 2007.
Lzzy Hale
Lzzy Hale is an American singer-songwriter, rhythm guitarist, and musician. She co-founded Halestorm with her brother Arejay. In addition to being the lead singer, she writes songs for the group. Her talents have earned her numerous accolades. Halestorm was one of the most popular bands of its time. Her songs have been covered by numerous artists, including Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, and Beyonce.
The band began as a group of ten to thirteen year-olds. It was the parents who encouraged Halestorm to form. Their efforts paid off, and the band has received countless opportunities. The band has also released two albums and are currently preparing for their sixth. Lzzy’s first solo album, For Your Information, will be released in August. If you’re looking for new music by Lzzy Halestorm, check out her website.
Aside from Hale, Halestorm’s upcoming album will feature their kid brother Arejay Hale. The band’s third album, “The Strange Case Of…,” will feature his dazzling talents. The band’s previous two albums, “ReAniMate 3.0” and “Into The Wild Life,” showcased a variety of genres and sounds. However, “Into The Wild Life” has been widely criticized for veering into pop territory.
The new album is shaping up to be Halestorm’s biggest release to date. It debuted at #1 on the Billboard hard rock albums chart and reached the top fifteen on the Billboard 200. She is also an ambassador for numerous charities. Her involvement with MusiCares, Strung Guitar String Jewelry, and the World Health Organization have contributed to her broader mission. Harmony and positivity in music are key to the band’s growth.
Arejay Hale
Arejay Hale is a drummer in the hard rock band Halestorm, which received the 2014 hard rock Grammy Award for “Love Bites (So Do I)”. The band has released three studio albums between 2009 and 2015, winning a Grammy in the process. Halestorm’s first EP was released in 1999, featuring his sister, Elizabeth “Lzzy” Hale, who is a singer and guitarist. The band also has several singles and a full-length album due out in 2018.
After a year and a half of laying low, Halestorm is preparing to make a comeback. The band will co-headline a North American tour this November with Evanescence, starting in Portland, Oregon. Hale is excited to play live with friends and perform new material after the recent COVID-19 pandemic forced him to stay home. But before the tour begins, he has some work to do.
The drummer of Halestorm is a natural leader with an impressive knowledge of his audience. He interrupts drum solos, orchestrates crowd chants, and demonstrates control of the crowd. Hale has been called one of the best drummers in rock. While his career started in middle school, he has come a long way since then. Now, he is one of the world’s most entertaining drummers.
Josh Smith
Bass player Josh Smith of Halestorm has enjoyed tremendous success over the years and recently headlined the second largest stage at Download festival. I caught up with him on the red carpet before the show in Glasgow to find out more about the band’s new album, how he got into bass playing and his growing fan base. We’re also taking a look at Josh’s influences, including Bruno Mars and the band Crimes, which he describes as “offensive rock.”
