Fans have been buzzing about the new episodes of Star Wars, The Force Unleashed and the eagerly anticipated eighth installment of the Skywalker saga. Now that it’s finally here, I bet a lot of them are dying to know what the new episodes have in store for us. If you’re one of those fans out there, I hope that by the time this article is your reading this, you’re as excited as I am. I’ll be the first to tell you though: Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the best thing to happen to Star Wars in ages. Here’s why. The Phantom Menace saw the release of Revenge of the Sith and immediately after that came the thrilling prequels to the original trilogy. The Phantom Menace introduced audiences to Anakin Skywalker (who we saw as a young boy in the first three films of the original trilogy) and introduced the exciting new character of Darth Vader, who was a much darker and powerful presence in the Star Wars universe compared to his earlier incarnations. Because of this, many fans were anxious to see how the new villains would be compared to Anakin and how they’d affect the series. In short, they were incredibly confused. Fortunately, the good guys did outstand their competition. Because Vader was such a powerful presence in the first film, the exciting new action sequences and intense fights made audiences desire more of the same, and just in case you didn’t know it, they got it. Two more movies were released in the lead up to Revenge of the Sith, The Phantom Menace and The Dark Knight. Both of these films ended up being huge financial successes, not only for the studios but for the general public as well. This is because the Jedi and their allies really did stand a fighting chance against the evil Galactic Empire. Of course, the release of Revenge of the Sith led to the next major sequel, The Phantom Menace, which saw the return of old nemeses Anakin Skywalker and Count Dooku. The dark knight himself was nowhere to be seen in The Phantom Menace, which disappointed many fans (including myself) because of the lack of classic Star Wars characters in the movie. It also didn’t help that the new bad guy looked exactly like Darth Vader, so it was like the saga had a continuity flaw. But now we finally know who the bad guy is and there’s already a great concept for a spinoff based around the Darth Vader-Anakin relationship. No, I’m not talking about a spinoff Star Wars 8 film that hasn’t been conceived yet, although I hear the rumor mills running wild with ideas. I want to discuss a concept that does indeed have the possibility to become a new Luke Skywalker/ Darth Vader adventure down the line. The name of the concept is called The Chris Evans Solo Movie Concept and it centers on the famous screen rants of the former Disney CEO and star of the new movie, Captain James Bond. If you’ve ever seen the new Bond film, then you’ve no doubt heard the famous lines, “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas,” and “Bond’s…friend.” Well, now one interpretation of that famous line from the movie, which is highly debated by die hard fans, is that in the new Solo spinoff, Bond will have a rival spy working at Disney, something we’ve never seen before in a Bond film. In fact, a new online rumor suggests that the character is going to be named Remy, which is a British term for a male prostitute. It would make for a very interesting story line. Another theory is that the dark side is coming out of the TV series, Star Trek, and it will be played by John Boyega. The character of Ezri Dax, who was introduced in the second season of Star Trek, is supposedly going to appear in episodes of Star Wars 8 and the spinoff of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Could this be a subtle reference to the Jedi Order? Some speculate that it could simply be a character created to give the show more depth, although there’s no real evidence supporting that claim. Other theories suggest that Ezri and her ship, the Bat droid, will be in the episodes of The Force Awakens and that the character of BB-8 will make an appearance as well. One more thing that has been circling around is that Daisy Ridley, who is most recently starring in The Force Awakens, may play a Resistance pilot in the upcoming Episode 8. Many fans are expecting a huge shock when the next sequel trilogy of Star Wars will premier at the box office in December of 2021. Many think that The Force Awakens will easily surpass the grossing gross of the original trilogy, and many predict that it will top the all time high mark of $2 billion. If this prediction comes to pass, then fans are in for a treat, especially after so long and painful wait for The Phantom Menace and the last Jedi. Fans everywhere are looking forward to The Phantom Menace and the exciting ending to Episode Seven and the exciting spinoff series that will follow. However, there is one major question that has remained unanswered. Will we get to see an Ewok?
